When kept in tune
you make a beautiful sound.
No matter how old or new
You can always be found.
My parents made me
play when I was young
We bonded for over
five years.
With it always being
A love relationship
We were very keen
together forever.
Not sure why but
I decided to stop playing
I felt like a nut
when I looked at you
I still waned to play
But many years passed
Although I now have found a way
And all it took was sitting down with you
Quicker than I thought
My fingers slid across your keys
Nothing had to be bought
But a reminder of what I love.
Piano, piano, piano
I like your poem. I can visual someone taking it back up after a few years and it coming more naturally then anticipated.
ReplyDeleteThanks and you are thinking correctly. I haven't played in about 6 plus years and I decided to try to pick it back up about the last 2 or 3 weeks and is coming so much easier than I thought it was going to :)
DeleteJourdan: Keep in mind that you need not rhyme in order to write an ode. It may get in the way of more intense description and sensory detail and comparison work (metaphors and similes) that would help us know what it looks like, what it feels like, etc. Note that the ode examples provided often fall into this vein and take it as their task to do more descriptive work.
